A very interesting take on the safety of Indian Street food versus expensive hotel buffets.

I never thought about it. Some of the street vendors I've eaten at, have been there for years. They wouldn't be there if they were getting people sick.

George AikaraOne of the pearls of wisdom I have heard in favour of street food / small establishments is that since these people don't have a large storage space or facilities, their inventory management becomes very efficient. They know how much vegetables / meat are required in a day, so food is mostly fresh. Bigger establishments can often buy in bulk and store. Now, I don't know if it's the lesser money being spent on food encourages a placebo effect, but I kinda do find food tasting fresher in small restaurants Hide
