Please take the time to teach your children to always respect water.

Both my sons can swim from an early age. They are not afraid of water, and I do not want them to be.

But I have known a few dear and lovely people who have suddenly lost their lives to water.

Water is powerful. Water level can rise within seconds. A single wave from the sea can take you away, never to return. Flowing water is especially dangerous.

We must always be fully aware when near water bodies. Always follow pool rules. Maintain a safe distance from flowing water. Make sure everyone in water is always within sight and earshot of each other. Wear safety jackets when in a vessel.

Being cautious saves lives.

PS: Some of these people have put themselves at grave risk to film these videos. Don't be that guy. Find shelter and move the heck back when water moves that fast.
