Ten years of git. Git is awesome because it solves all the pain points with SCMs. IMHO, Linus hasn't done any major projects other than the kernel and git, and hasn't had any serious employment beyond the kernel. Yet he understood all the pain points in all kinds of software development. Does that make developing the Linux kernel the granddaddy of all software development experiences?
