One of the things we do as part of our work, is import components from all over the world to India. Can someone here guide us on what it takes to import oxygen concentrators into India.

Does the BIS, CDSCO or some other body certify oxygen concentrators in India? Do they need to comply to any specific standard? Or are they unregulated household appliances, just like air purifiers.

What would be a good starting point to read about the certification or approval for sale in India of medical equipment in general?

Context: Bottled oxygen is scarce. Concentrating/enriching oxygen is easy. It helps reduce the pressure on hospitals because a number of folks are just getting hospitalised for oxygen.
