A month or so later, I went for readmission, because I had a secondary fever. This time was being admitted in the Covid negative section.
I was there at the hospital at 9, perhaps 10am. I was on a bed at 5:30pm. In the interim, I and my attendant (a colleague and a friend) simply waited outside the building, in the heat of September. I had high fever.
This, when my pulmonologist had already reserved a bed for me even before I showed up. And all payments were by debit/credit card, not medical insurance (I'd run out of that long back).
Medical institutions in India sorely need to improve their processes.
