I still remember conversations verbatim, from when long distance communication was a luxury. These days its all just a blur, a flurry of messages and images.

Saurabh JYossarian Doabwala another thing I'm reminded of when I see these call booths, is how the PSU units of the Indian government, with their monopolies, work to extract from the population, just as they extract from the mines and forests. Or as you say - our own government colonises us. I remember paying ₹100 per minute in the 90s to make urgent long distance calls during the day time. To report sickness or bad news.
