There is something that I and Aniket can't seem to agree upon.

Conventionally, a large part of the cost of RCC or load bearing wall construction, goes into preparing the foundation. So it would make sense thar anyone preparing a foundation would make full use of it by building two or more floors on top.

Why then do people build just one floor in Goa so frequently? Is it a preference or luxury? Is the cost of foundation much cheaper because of the rocky terrain? Is there something about laterite brick walls that I do not understand?

Perhaps people from Karnataka would know. Very similar terrain in Mangalore etc also.

But, that looks like it's all gone with the wind as recently I visited one site and was shown their model apartment (spacious with sleeping quarters for Driver and Domestic included inside). One window also couldn't be left open... Everything we may plan to keep even atop the dining table would fly away and shatter against the walls or anyone walking by Hide
