Comment on the internet: "Even adjusted for inflation, this price increase is too much."

My dude. This price increase is literally where the inflation is coming from. You can't adjust inflation for inflation 🤦🏽‍♂️

Suhas MathurTo nitpick a bit, it is quite possible to have a price increase higher (or lower) than the official inflation number - simply because inflation is the avg price change of a specific basket of goods and services. The cost of Petrol/Lpg/diesel can very well increase at a different rate from that basket. For e.g. in many parts of the US right now, real estate prices are about +20% higher than the same time last year, but the official US inflation number is around +8%. Hide

Bhavna SinghGuess you missed mentioning the price hike in real estate, gold, farm land in last 15 - 20 years. My mom has gold which was bought for 80 INR tola, & at that time tola was more than 10 grams. Our ancestral home is made on a piece of land which coated INR 16000 only for an acre. So I guess before wanting to buy petrol for 50 INR again, we first need to find an acre of land for INR 50000. Hide
