I came back to Delhi, after the longest period I have been away from the city in a decade.

The first thing that hits you at the airport is the smell. The air in the city has a foul smell, that is distinct from the stuffiness and weird taste in the mouth caused by particulate pollution.

I've always felt the pollution, but never smelt the smell before. I assumed this was something at the airport, but I could smell it all the way till Gurgaon, through my N95 mask.

Of course I stopped smelling or feeling anything after a couple of days in the city.
