The rupee isn't falling. The US dollar is rising.

Just like India buying Russian oil is helping the Russian war effort. While the EU buying three times as much oil and gas from Russia as India is only stopping the European economy from collapsing, not helping the Russian war effort in any way.

(My uncaffeinated morning brain thinks there is an analogy there somewhere, but can't put a finger on it. If you see it, let me know too.)
