• Balagopal RavibalanIt is common to celebrate menarche in many cultures - as a symbol of fertility. It usually has a priest involved and then a grand feast. The choice of words here is unfortunate. The hypocrisy however is in the fact that from the next time onewards the same girl will be branded "impure" when the same thing happens. • Millie KhannaSorry, what's wrong or angering? Except for the choice of English words which must come from non native speakers of English. If you can do a mundan for a boy, why not this? If done right, it would remove period shaming. Maybe criticise the shaming around periods and especially in TN of calling them impure and instead celebrate it as detoxification or renewal of a cycle, a fresh start. Nitpicking on a banner shan't help you look woke.
