I wish I was taught science like this. Not in school. Not at IIT. Not once did even one teacher bring experiments into the classroom so we could see with our own eyes what we were studying.

In the labs. Yes. But no live demos.

Jaspal OberoiI did almost exactly this experiment with a plastic bottle, with the girls recently. Pour hot water in, seal, and then wait a few seconds... It's a beautiful sight. Hide

Sid MallickAnd.... this was a made for TV class... not a live classroom... i would not want to be around a 55 gallon drum of boiling hot water that has been rapidly cooled down.... it would have been his last video if it had gone off when he was "hearing" low pressure inside.... Hide
Sid Mallickdid something similar on a plane..... fill a bottle with a bite valve of similar at ground level... seal shut... open with care at 35000 feet.... then repeat with an empty plastic single use bottle.... seal shut at elevation only to see it crush itself by the time you land.... #UnderPressure PV=NRT !!
