People ask me what is wrong with Indian education.
A bunch of twenty-something's have to physically break into a server room in order to shut the servers down. Servers that are connected to the campus network that these kids have access to.
I'm condoning neither physical intrusion nor network cracking. I'm just saying that either most CS students at JNU have a strong set of ethics (which I see as an upside of studying at a university that doesn't just focus on tech education). Or, they don't have a future in online security, devops, infra, or even out of the box thinking.
I managed multiple campus datacenters for five years. Most of them had no physical security; the keys were freely passed around. These were days before surveillance cameras. You don't assault servers. That's hitting below the belt.
