Kavin comes to me and hits his head with a mallet, then laughs merrily.

Kavin: This mallet is very malletey.

Me: I know the feeling. I've been coding for 32 years.

Kavin: I'm going to sleep now.

Last night I found him missing from bed. He was at his PC, coding. I told him it's past midnight and he was surprised. He went back to bed immediately.

He is self motivated, I've never asked him to code. He discovered JS courses on Khan Academy and started making games and math puzzles. I'm not sure how to react to the situation. Am I supposed to moderate him? What do you think?

He of course shouldn't be working past midnight and that was just one-off. Sometimes you just can't catch any sleep when there's a bug in your code (those who code know the feeling).
