Now that my kids understand the insect food chain, they're happy cohabiting with spiders and geckos. Been a while since we used mosquito repellants or nets, even though we have so many indoor plants.

Of course, the absence of flies and mosquitoes could also be a function of the amount of fumigation in my neighbourhood.
