Schools can't charge transportation fees. This, from a government that runs buses itself through BMTC and KSRTC. Do stationary buses not require upkeep? Should EMIs not be paid on them? What about drivers, cleaners, conductors - should they have been laid off the day the lockdown was announced, to join this country's ever increasing pool of the unemployed?

Too much conflict of interest here. First, the government runs its own schools that compete with private schools. Second, almost all government officials send their children to private schools, and stand to directly benefit from this move.

Using the epidemics act to dictate the finances of a private entity is a terrible overreach of power.
