So, social dancing.

Salsa. Bachata. Kizomba.

These are very, shall I say, intimate dances.

So, the male dancers. "Leads". They're looking away. Never looking at their partner.

But what is up with the expression on their faces? It's a distant look, yes. Its not disinterest, or constipation, or incontinence. Its something else altogether.

So, apart from the moves, should my boys also be practising "the look"? Because right now they're very cheerful. Laughing and smiling. Or sometimes focused when the steps are tricky.

(I don't remember seeing this look when observing social dancing - salsa and tango - in San Jose.)

Edit: Professional dancers just did a demo. They both had the most cheerful expressions. And they were paying attention to each other. So this expression must be a beginner (or at least non pro) thing.
