My American friends, it is ok to just say goodbye at the end of a business call and hang up. You don't need to drag on for minutes talking about the weather at the other end of the planet, how my whole family is doing, etc.

You notice how us Indians are always getting our work done, even though we spend all our time on ndtv.com or some cricket site. It's because we don't waste time being nice to each other. If you build genuine relationships with your colleagues, it's harder on you when you stab 'em in the back on the way up.
