“I am not absentminded. It is the presence of mind that makes me unaware of everything else.”
― G.K. Chesterton

If you've had the misfortune of working with me, or being in my care (if there can be such a thing), you would know that I do not respond easily to being called. Usually, anything less than a nudge in the ribs is a waste of your time. I'm not absentminded. I'm concentrating very hard on something I really care about. And I don't care as much about you. Or your thing. So there.

Sometimes I feel sad for people who are incapable of being completely lost in their work. Things I fail to notice while working include minor earthquakes and fires, nightfall and subsequent daybreak, hunger, managers and vermin.
