• Saurabh JSo my bigger problem is that by not eating their cuisine, I'm not experiencing their culture. Which is what this trip is about. Culture. Food is so integral to their culture and I just stare, blink and move on. I wish I hadn't grown up to be grossed out by non veg.

• Saudamini JainThere's a vegan ramen place at the Tokyo station. And it is AMAZing. You can still eat Tempura at most restaurants -- sniff to check for fish oil. And Subway obvs: avocado subs rocked my world. Hide
• Prasanna KDude, we found what you can eat (from convenience stores) 1. Onigiri (esp the red, black bean one) WE LOVED THIS.. 2. Salads (check the dressing, many are ok) 3. Tempura (you can ask for veggie tempura) 4. Soba noodles/soup, ask for 'no meat, no fish, no seafood' 5.
