View from my bed. Not too shabby, eh?

If you're going to fall (mildly) sick on a trip, let the trip be to Alaska. With breathtaking beauty everywhere you look, you'll be contended even in bed.

By the way, the photograph was taken right now. It is 11pm and this is how it looks outside the window. Reminds me of the story I keep retelling of the 8pm girl in Boston. If you know me well and I haven't told you that story yet, hmm, then you don't know me well enough.

Saurabh JSo here's the story. In the summer of 2001 I was an intern at the MIT Media Lab at Cambridge, MA. I volunteered to pick folks up at the airport for a conference at MIT. One of the guests was a girl from MSSRF Chennai, who'd never been outside (south) India. I set her up at an MIT dorm room, and told her "When you wake up in the evening the sun will still be up in the sky. Do not panic. Here's my number. Call me." Sure enough, at 8pm I get a call from her. Her voice a mix of amazement and fear, she asked me what the sun was still doing up in the sky. For folks who have never been outside tropic
