Lands like Australia and the USA have traditionally been ruled by white immigrants. I've often wondered what would happen if, through some stroke of legal jiggery-pokery, the native people of these lands were made the rulers instead.

In the light of what's happening with the Dakota pipeline, and the rather meh presidential choices currently on offer to the American public, I wish this weren't just a pipe dream.

If the world is to survive, we need less wars and more respect for nature. The typical 'Red Indian' in Western movies is always indulging in tribal warfare. I don't know how much of that is based on fact. But this much is sure. There would be lesser focus on short term economic gain - the Wall Street model. And greater focus on healing the earth.
