Witnessed such a scene at a major private hospital in Delhi yesterday. A family of foreigners with Indian cash was trying to get their patient discharged. They were told to go to their embassy, which would help them get fresh Indian currency. They said they had purchased Indian currency before coming to India, and this is all the money they had. They did not have international cards etc.

Since the patient was not discharged, additional daily bed charges were also accruing.

It felt like they were speaking Bangla amongst themselves. Might have been Bangladeshis in that case.

What chaos.
