Today we had a chance to admire the beauty of this mechanical marvel. Till the harrowed owner took it away, that is.

The children learnt that not just the keyboard layout, but many other everyday computing concepts such as margins, tabulation (Tab key), backspace, intensity, ribbon colour, line spacing, line feed, carriage return, and the fantastic shift key, all originated long before computers, and have stayed almost the same even on our phones.
